The listed sanatorium building was designed in 1951-1953 by the architects Kees de Bever and Kees van Moorsel in a Traditionalist style. The park and garden layout is by Jan Bijhouwer. In 2007, the Clock Mountain, as a reconstruction monument of the welfare state between 1940 and 1958, was nominated for national protection.

De verpleging en verzorging werd vooral gedaan door nonnen. Tbc werd al snel een goed behandelbare ziekte. In 1969 waren er niet veel patiënten meer, en hield het sanatorium in De Klokkenberg.

1951 Sanatoriumcomplex de Klokkenberg De Klokkenberg is gebouwd als een rooms-katholiek sanatorium voor tuberculosepatiënten. Het complex was eind 1953 gereed. De patiënten werden verpleegd door zusters Franciscanessen. Tot 2007 heeft de Klokkenberg als ziekenhuis gefunctioneerd.

De Klokkenberg was the largest and most modern tuberculosis sanatorium in the Netherlands. The care institution provided shelter and care to hundreds of TB patients. The nursing and care was mainly done by nuns. TB quickly became a treatable disease. In 1969 there were not many patients left, and the sanatorium in De Klokkenberg ceased to exist.
